Give me a minute

Believe me when I tell you…this is why I have blog:) to talk to myself of course!  What are your goals this year with the farm I say to myself? Like most farmers the answer is always to have a great growing season. But really…that is a goal? whether or not mother nature sees it that way or not and I have no idea. The main thing for me is to keep my eye on the most important thing on the farm and that is?????They are all important! Everything, the field, the animals, the market, the CSA, the chefs, the flowers, the events, the compost, the lawn getting mowed, the planters filled with flowers, the signage and the baking and the jam making and the egg washing…they are all important. So how does one prioritize them? I swear I have no idea…I just run wild most of the time.  I was out weeding the garden this morning…I love this time of day on the farm. But while I was there I was thinking…I need to hurry this task along so I can get to the other hundred things I need to do.  Oh and yes, I need to pay the bills, head to the store for groceries and take our dog to the vet to have this fatty tumor removed and call the guy who trims our donkey’s hooves. Overwhelming as it all may be…it is another day and somehow it all works out . Well some of it anyway. I wonder how others do it?…you know all the things in life…Am I the only one who feels totally utterly out of control most of the time? Phone ringing….hello Mrs Marchetti? Yes…this is Joe’s auto repair …your truck is going to run you $800.00 bucks to fix it…Cash or credit card…Mrs Marchetti….hellooo

Just a little update…ten minutes after posting this blog…Mark come home early from Nashville which was weird…He informed me that our bank account has been hit with fraud…Really.. someone on Thursday hit the account for over a grand…at walmart…They are stealing card numbers left and right the girls at the bank just told us.  So unbelievable…Okay I was going to make Jam because of the rain after I picked up Lucca…Now I am going to take a nap with ear plugs:)

On a good note…the money will be recovered…and I will feel much better after a nap….everything is better after a nap:)

My name is Peggy Lynn Marchetti. I am a wife, a mother of two beautiful, never boring children, and a farmer... that's right - a farmer... a female farmer to be exact. I live on a beautiful little third generation organic farm in middle Tennessee.
