We have had a good run this spring…and little on the hilly side in terms of weather…hot, cold…hot cold…then just plain hot. And we did have some bumps with all this wild weather. Our asparagus came in early April just in time to totally miss our CSA and market. But for some reason this year wasn’t a good year for asparagus anyway. The shoots were on the small side and not as many. Our early June crops came in the end of May a couple of week early just in time to catch the heat wave which spurred them on. We have had to call back to back pickups from our CSA because of that. But all in all we have had a pretty good run this spring. Now it’s time to move into summer and the summer crops. Heirloom tomatoes, squash, zucchini and peppers and flowers…oh yes I love the flower season here on the farm. For most of our CSA they won’t be picking up for a couple of weeks with the exception of the 14 shareholders that picked up last Tuesday. These shareholders can pickup their baskets Thursday June 5th. 4-6 Here is my list of last names for those shareholders. It y’all could email or Facebook message me and let me know if you can make the pickup on Thursday I will have your baskets backed and ready to go.
We have a farm wedding this weekend so the farm closed for that private event.
